Aluminum Stair Case
Railing System

Durable aluminum stair stringers paired with perforated stair treads provide a complete, high-performance solution for modern stair systems. The stringers are engineered to deliver robust structural support, ensuring long-term stability while maintaining a clean, architectural appearance.
Perforated aluminum treads are designed for both safety and functionality, offering excellent traction and natural drainage—making them ideal for exterior applications in all weather conditions. The open perforation pattern helps reduce water buildup and debris accumulation, creating a safer walking surface while maintaining a lightweight design.
Aluminum stair systems also streamline the construction process. Compared to traditional wood or steel builds, they eliminate many of the time-consuming steps, allowing for faster fabrication and installation. This means you can have a durable, fully installed staircase in a fraction of the time, without sacrificing quality or performance.
Ideal for both residential and commercial applications, these lightweight yet highly durable systems can be paired with any of our railing styles to create a cohesive and modern finished look. Built for efficiency, strength, and long-term durability, aluminum stair systems offer a smart solution for your next project.
Faster installs. Less downtime. Built to last.

Stair Stringers
Stair stringers provide the structural backbone of any staircase, delivering strength, stability, and long-term performance. Our stringers are fabricated from high-grade aluminum, offering a durable, corrosion-resistant solution that maintains a clean, modern profile. Designed for both residential and commercial applications, they provide a low-maintenance system built to perform in a wide range of environments.
Standard Stringer Options
Our aluminum stair stringers are available in multiple sizes to suit different project requirements:
-
2" × 12" Stringer — Our most common option, providing maximum strength and span capability for a wide range of stair systems. Ideal for longer runs or applications requiring increased structural support.
-
2" × 8" Stringer — A lower-profile option suited for applications where a slimmer look is preferred or where structural conditions allow for reduced depth.
Custom Options
Additional stringer sizes and configurations may be available depending on your project requirements and design preferences.

Stair Treads
Perforated aluminum stair treads provide a durable, slip-resistant surface designed for both safety and long-term performance. Fully welded to the stair stringers, they create a strong, integrated stair system with a clean, modern appearance suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
2" x 12" Perforated Treads
Our standard 2" × 12" aluminum perforated treads are designed for strength, traction, and reliability. The perforated surface allows for natural water drainage and helps reduce slip hazards, making them ideal for all weather conditions.
Custom Options
Additional stringer sizes and configurations may be available depending on your project requirements and design preferences.

Staircase Mounting & Structural Support
This aluminum stair system is designed with both structural integrity and clean aesthetics in mind. Each connection point is carefully detailed to ensure proper load transfer, long-term performance, and a refined architectural appearance. From fabrication through installation, the system is built to integrate seamlessly with the supporting structure while maintaining alignment, rigidity, and durability.
Top Mounting Connection
The top mounting point is determined by the specific site conditions and substrate. Aluminum mounting plates or a flat bar panel—depending on the application—are welded directly to the stair stringers and mechanically fastened to the fascia with proper internal blocking.
This connection is designed to provide adequate bearing and secure load transfer into the primary structure. While fascia mounting with blocking is the most common approach, connection details may vary depending on framing conditions, structural layout, and project-specific requirements.
Bottom Mounting Connection
At the base of the staircase, thick aluminum mounting plates are fully welded to the bottom of the stringers, creating a rigid connection point. These plates are anchored into the concrete or supporting surface using lag bolts, wedge anchors, or other mechanical fasteners, depending on the substrate.
This base connection is critical for resisting lateral movement and vertical loads, ensuring the staircase remains stable under use and environmental conditions.
Mid-Span Support (When Required)
For longer stair runs, additional structural support may be required to limit deflection and maintain overall system performance. This can include mid-span landings or vertical support posts integrated into the design.
These elements help distribute loads more evenly across the system while preserving alignment and minimizing movement over time, all while maintaining a clean and cohesive visual appearance.
Project-Specific Design
Every staircase is designed to suit the unique conditions of the project. Factors such as span length, attachment points, load requirements, and surrounding structure are all carefully evaluated.
The result is a fully custom stair system that is structurally sound, properly supported, and designed to integrate seamlessly with the space it serves.

Staircase Guardrail Installation- Choose a Railing System
Now that your aluminum staircase is installed, the next step is adding a guardrail system to ensure safety, code compliance, and a cohesive finished look. Our stair systems are designed to integrate seamlessly with any of our railing options, allowing you to create a solution that fits both the structure and the overall design of your space.
Choose the infill style that best fits your stair system design and desired level of openness.
Classic Vertical Picket
A classic and timeless style offering structure, safety, and visual balance. Vertical pickets provide a defined, traditional look while maintaining open visibility, making them a versatile option for both modern and traditional spaces.

Code Requirements & Height Guidelines
Proper guardrail and handrail design is essential for safety, accessibility, and code compliance. Requirements can vary depending on the application, so it’s important to ensure the system is designed correctly for your specific project.
Residential Applications
For residential applications, guardrails are required to have a minimum height of 36 inches, measured from the leading edge of the stair tread (nosing). In many cases, the guardrail can also function as the required handrail, provided it meets graspability requirements. A compliant handrail must be graspable, continuous along the stair run, and installed at a height between 34" and 38". Certain top channel profiles may meet these requirements, while others may require a separate handrail to be added.
Commercial and Multi-Family Applications
For commercial and multi-family applications, guardrails must have a minimum height of 42 inches. Because this height typically exceeds the allowable handrail height range, a separate, code-compliant handrail system must be installed in addition to the guardrail. This handrail must be graspable, continuous, and properly returned at the ends to meet accessibility and safety standards.
Spacing Rule
In addition to height requirements, spacing and infill design must also meet code. Openings within the railing system are typically required to prevent the passage of a 4-inch sphere, ensuring safety for occupants. Cable, picket, and glass systems must be properly designed and installed to meet these requirements.
Because building codes and interpretations can vary by jurisdiction, every project is evaluated based on local code requirements and site conditions. Our team works closely with you to ensure your railing system is both compliant and thoughtfully integrated into the overall design.
